This review is from: Panasonic KX-TG6724EM DECT Phone (Electronics)
Having decided to upgrade the phones in my house, as some of them were over twenty years old and the only digital one I had was starting to play up,I looked through the phones on offer on the Amazon website.Having chosen the model I liked and reading what other people had said about them, but when I came to order them I found out there was a newer model so I chose that instead.I am very happy with my choice as they were an absolute doddle to set up,I just put the batteries in and set the date and time,very simple to do,and put it in the main docking station and plugged it into the telephone socket.When I put the batteries in the other phones the time and date was picked up from the first phone I did,simple or what! The phones work well and are very clear and the answering machine also works well and is easy to use.Overall,just the job.

We bought this quad set of Panasonic phones (KX-TG6724EM) for my girlfriend’s sister and her brother-in-law who have recently moved to a large house with a separate granny flat. We were concerned as to whether the phones would have sufficient range for this application but we need not have worried – reception is fine. However, for information, Panasonic do a DECT range extender which can easily be added to this set if required.
As we see it these are the pros and cons of these phones;
Pros
– The handsets are well made and sturdy with reasonably large keys and clear black on orange displays. – Battery life is very good – the phones can be left off their charging cradles on standby for several days – obviously, if you have a large number of calls this will reduce. – Each handset has a “softkey” which gives easy access to “immediate” functions such as replaying messages that have been left or listing missed calls etc. – The audio quality is good and each handset has a built in (but switchable) equaliser which improves voice quality considerably. The speakerphone facility is also good too – important to my relatives when working from home. – The key functions such as redial, phonebook and intercom etc. are very easy to access plus it is simple to copy phone numbers stored on one handset to the other three. – The answerphone facility is easy to operate and comes with a pre-recorded greeting, plus, you set your own PIN number for remote access to your messages – so you shouldn’t be a victim of voicemail hacking. You can replay messages from any of the handsets or remotely. – You only need one phone socket for the base unit (plus an adjacent mains socket) – for the other three base units all you need is a mains socket.
Cons
– I agree with some of the other reviewers, that whilst there are a number of ringtone choices they are inclined to be slightly flamboyant by UK standards (rather like some doorchimes) – to me, this is only a small issue. – More complex functions will require you to revert to the product manual, but, then 95% of users will probably not use them anyway. – Nothing else!
Overall, these are a very competent set of phones with an integrated answer machine (which can be turned off if you want to use exchange based voicemail services etc). The sound quality is good, whilst the primary functions are easy to manage, and, the handsets feel like they’ll last a long time. Recommended.
