i got this because i love the xbox 360 controller and wanted one for windows. however the disc itself does not have any device driver so just install the software and for the receiver itself follow these steps and the device will be recognised. this is if you are using windows 7 64 bit it took me about 4 hours to find out how to do this so make sure you follow the steps.

    click start button first
    a. Right click on Computer
    b. Go to Properties
    c. Click on Device Manager
    d. Right click on the Unidentified Device
    e. Go to Properties
    f. Go to the Drive tab
    g. Click on Update Driver…
    h. Browse my computer for driver software
    i. Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
    j. Windows Common Controller for Window Class
    k. Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows Version: 2.1.0.1349
    l. Update Driver Warning
    m. Click Yes

Product is NOT genuine MS, 9 Mar 2012

    Amazon Verified Purchase(What is this?)

Item IS NOT a genuine Microsoft product, rather a very convincing Chinese copy, complete with badly spelt packaging, fake holograms, the lot. Windows only recognizes the receiver as “Unknown USB device”, and must have the MS Drivers forced in order to work, as described in other reviews. Once this is done, everything works fine, however, people need to be aware of this.

Does exactly what you would expect, it allows you to connect up to 4 Xbox360 controllers and headsets at once to play games on your PC. Installation was a doddle, although there are no Vista drivers on the supplied disk you can force the XP drivers and they work fine, or download the Vista drivers from Microsoft’s site.

Pros – playing PC games with a wireless controller made easy as pie

Cons – No supplied Vista drivers, but they are still easy to get hold of

Final thoughts – if you want to use your 360 pads for PC gaming, look no further
