I feel kind of disappointed by the book of spells.My two boys are 8 and 6. Initial set up was ok but you are not going to have this up and running in a few minutes shall we say.the book itself takes you through numerous examples (and some long winded explanation) of spells which if I’m honest weren’t that exciting to hold their attention for very long. There wasn’t much in the way of navigation through the book so you couldn’t appear to skip through parts.the end of each chapter is where you wanted to get to where things pick up a tad but we never got that far as you had to complete each spell section first and the boys just lost interest. This is NOT a game as such rather an interactive type of thing and no where near as exciting as the ads would have you believe.The PS3 itself is ok but don’t try and download any games on the 12gig version as you will find that the hard drive isn’t big enough. We had approx 7gig free on the drive and when I looked at downloading a game that what lower than this it would not work. The reason is that you need approx TWICE the space of the game to download.I got a new hard drive and caddy to sole that issue and wasn’t very expensive.We also have a Wii and I find that most of the games are better suited to younger kids.The PS3 doesn’t have as good a choice for this age group and they seem to be more expensive.The game set up etc also seems to be a lot easier on the wii.

Wow, I was totally amazed with this console – the games and picture quality are so much better than the wii!!!
The Playstation Move is good and there are some good games for it – for example just dance 4 – but book of spells isn’t a very good game unless you are a huge fan of Harry Potter, however the whole deal is a great price and you pretty much get it free :)!
The machine itself is very fast and doesn’t make any noise or get hot, it’s a great console!!!!!
