We use these a lot at work. Unlike most printable dvd’s, you can print all the way to the centre- there isnt that clear or sometimes raised circle in the middle of the dvd. Also, there is no text round the edge to get in the way of the printing area- if you need a disc that your going to print on, and need the maximum printable area, get these. The quality of print obvioulsy depends on your printer, but the ink drys well on these dvds, and the quality is very profesional looking.
I’m not too bothered about the lack of a spindle, but the only complaint i have is that on some dvds, the purple colour from the underside of the disc above, can leave a slight mark on the discs below. This has only been on a few discs, and isnt noticable once printed on.
I’ve done many burns with these discs, and haven’t had a miss-burn yet. Make sure you burn first, then print on the printable surface though.

i was wondering whether these would be ok being so cheap. but they are ace. im really pleased that being so cheap i can use them without thinking about price. they have been good – used about 30 with no failures yet. look ok too. they come in simple plastic wrapping to keep cost down but i just stuck em on an old spool to use. they are good buy me thinks.

Packaging – to me, the photo and description is slightly deceptive. When buying a 50 dvd-R SPINDLE I tend to expect a spindle but my batch just came wrapped in cellophane. Not that it really matters I suppose, just a minor surprise and irritation as I had to hunt around for an unused spindle to put them on.
With all things your milleage may vary and obviously these ritek discs have their fans. So far I’ve had one successfully burned disc out of five and the maximum write speed for me was X4, not X8. I have up to date firmware so your guess is as good as mine. With Verbatim, I’ve had two failures in 200 discs. Ehh, its probably all just luck of the draw. Maybe its a bad batch, maybe its my hardware or the wrong phase of the moon. Whatever the case, I consider one in five pretty poor, so with apologies to those who swear by ’em, one star.
