Had the machine for a couple of days now, and, so far, so good. There’s already several Windows 8 updates and a BIOS update available to download at your leisure. The screen is pretty good, despite certain reviewers calling it “dim.” The low wattage Intel Core i3 processor will be more than adequate for most tasks thrown at it as it’s dual cored and allows multithreading. Probably the weakest component is the mechanical hard drive, but it’s the defacto standard found in most laptops under £600 these days. All in all then, a very impressive laptop. True, there is no Operating System disk supplied, nor Product Key number. However, the latter can be easily found out with programs such as Speccy.

I believe that this is currently the cheapest laptop of it’s type on the market, it is a good looking laptop that is well specified for the price.
Pros:
. Light, slim and good looking laptop, similar in style to an Ultrabook but a little thicker. . The touchscreen enables Windows 8 to be used as it was intended. . It has an Ethernet port and VGA connector which set it apart from most slim laptops. . Great for basic web surfing, email and word processing.
Cons: . This isn’t a particularly powerful laptop (PC Pro magazine give it an overall Real World Benchmark score of 0.48 which is similar to a full size budget laptop) but changing the internal hard drive for an SSD will improve performance.
TIP: If you buy this laptop you can create a recovery USB memory stick (16GB memory stick required) to recover the computer if the hard drive fails – Insert the USB memory stick, Open Control Panel, choose View By Large Icons, click Recovery then click Create Recovery Drive (be sure to tick Copy The Recovery Partition From The PC To The Recovery Drive).
