This review is from: TABTRONICS 8GB M009S 7″ Capacitive Android tablet PC – Android 4.0 ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich) – with DOUBLE System RAM (1GB) for ULTIMATE PERFORMANCE – Responsive Capacitive Screen – Flash Player 11.1 – Compatible with BBC iPlayer / Youtube / Amazon Kindle / Facebook – HD 2160P – Wifi

I will start by saying my tablet arrived early. I ordered it on a Tuesday evening and received it on Thurs morn. The seller quoted a delivery of Saturday, so a big thanks to Tabtronics!

Been thinking about buying a kindle for a while, but kept seeing these cheap Chinese tablets for a little bit more. What a bargain, this is a fully functioning tablet that is also very good as an e-reader!
This tablet is so easy to use. I am an IT professional, so I know a fair bit about computers. Here is a summary of this tablet:

1: Its light and easy to hold.
2: The screen is bright and crisp.
3: The Android Market is full and works straight away once you register – registering is very easy!
4: The processor and graphics are very powerful – it handles anything I have thrown at it so far with ease
5: Buy a case to protect it. I have bought the leather look one with a built in keyboard which was a bargain at £9
6: You only need an extra memory card if you want to store lots of videos or music.
7: The sound quality from the speaker was suprisingly good. It beats almost any phones built in speaker I have heard.
8: Updates to the latest Android version are out for this tablet. Its not automatic update and requires a little work thats not for the complete beginner. A google search for “LY-F1 ICS firmware”, “Livesuit update” (thats not a typo, livesuit is spelled without an ‘e’ at the end), or “Moonpad2 ICS” should get you to web forums that explain the process. Some of them are saying that there are issues with screen rotation and the three buttons on the bezel not working after the update but for the tablet this review is listed in everything works perfectly after the update.
9: If you are buying this for kids, get some i-ballz for it, (dont snigger). Its a protection system that covers all four corners with rubber balls and means if its dropped it will be protected however it lands.

I cant help but add a bit of advice about buying cheap tablets – its the IT support in me coming out 🙂

1: Although cheaper, avoid tablets with resistive touchscreens. They are far less responsive to the touch and can make for a very frustrating experience. Some people have told me they get on ok with them, but nobody has ever told me they didnt get on with a capacitive touchscreen.

2: There are lots of versions of this tablet for sale on amazon. To identify those that are the same as this, they will have the description “Allwinner A10”. Thats a description of the guts inside and will be almost identical with small differences in memory or sockets.

3: Its a shame these arent in the shops. I always advise people to play around with something before they buy it. Easy use is a subjective term and will be mean different things to different people. If you have an android phone, then an android tablet will be very easy for you to use. If you are new to android, dont worry. There are lots of sites out there that can help. The best is Youtube. Search for ‘using android’ or ‘android tutorial’ and you will be alright. To be honest though, android is so simplistic to use, you shouldnt need to… it was designed to be easy.

In summary, I am an IT professional and have been amazed by this tablet for the price. Some of my clients have the branded tablets that cost four times as much and they might have a fit when they find out what I paid! Us IT people are notoriously fussy about their computers, so if this one pleases me then this or any of the other versions on here will please you too.

    Brilliant little Gadget TABTRONICS – A10 M009SC Capacitive , 7″, 11 Jan 2012

This review is from: TABTRONICS 8GB M009S 7″ Capacitive Android tablet PC – Android 4.0 ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich) – with DOUBLE System RAM (1GB) for ULTIMATE PERFORMANCE – Responsive Capacitive Screen – Flash Player 11.1 – Compatible with BBC iPlayer / Youtube / Amazon Kindle / Facebook – HD 2160P – Wifi

This is my first ever review on Amazon.
I ordered this form Goclickit on 8/1/2012 and it said to expect delivery between
12/1/2012 & 16/1/2012 how amazed was I when it arrived 10/1/2012, fantastic service!
It came well packaged with an English handbook.

As this was my first Android device I was glad of that. The tablet was half charged and worked straight out of the box. I did, however, charge the tablet until the charge light went out so that I could study the hand book.
after about an hour I had got my head round the basics ( my slowness not this great little machine ) it found my wifi no trouble and I had got Kindle, you tube, facebook and a couple of other apps. After playing for about another hour the battery still showed about 1/4. So I would estimate it lasts 3 hours.

Then I had a problem, it was erratic when switching on,sometimes it would and others no go.
I contacted Goclickit via Amazon and had a reply within 20 minutes.I tried what they suggested but to no avail. I contacted them again and the response this time was about 10 minutes and they said to return the item and they would replace it
and pay for the postage. Before I had even sent the first one back I had a message saying they had sent a replacement and I would be with me the next day.
What great service. It was there 9am the next day. It worked straight from the box fully charged. It found my wifi again no probs I downloaded all the apps again and played with it for about 2 hours.
The capacitive screen is bright, clear & responsive. The sound quality is average but I have some mini speakers which vastly improved this as do headphones.

I bought a 16gb sd card and installed it, the tab recognised it right away. I connected it to my computer and once more it recognised the device as 2 separate storage devices one the tablets internal memory and the sd card. I loaded some films onto the card and we watched a couple that evening. Very sharp images and very easy to pause play etc. When you watch part of a film and switch the tab off when you turn it on again it remembers where you are, very handy!

I put some kids games on and my grandson ( 2 1/2 years) found it a piece of cake.

As a techno moron I had many queries and the responses were always prompt, patient and polite

As I said I know little of other devices but this one does everything I have asked it to do be it internet browsing, games, watching films it’s terrific.

I see that the price has increased since I got mine but even at the new price it’s still great value

    Amazon Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: TABTRONICS 8GB M009S 7″ Capacitive Android tablet PC – Android 4.0 ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich) – with DOUBLE System RAM (1GB) for ULTIMATE PERFORMANCE – Responsive Capacitive Screen – Flash Player 11.1 – Compatible with BBC iPlayer / Youtube / Amazon Kindle / Facebook – HD 2160P – Wifi

Ordered the tablet on Sunday evening, it was delivered by Tuesday morning!

Like alot of other people, was worried about buying a cheap tablet, but read all the reviews of the M009S and decided to take the plunge. What a brilliant surprise this tablet was!

I’m a massive android fan and have a top end android phone that i’ve rooted and spend alot of time messing about with custom ROM’s and tweeking the OS (stick with me if i’ve lost you!), so i had quite high expectations to meet.

I was looking for a tablet primarily for the kids to play games on and watch movies, to stop them pinching my phone all the time! Well this tablet more than meets my expectations.

It has a good solid build quality, screen is bright and very responsive, running gingerbread no problem, App store works perfectly (no issues with downloading or installing any apps), BBC iplayer works well, brouser very quick and no problem with flash on websites, wireless connection is actually stronger than the one on my phone(!), can be tethered to a phone when out and about for internet access, movie playback is smooth and lag free, with the kids playing games it has lasted between 3 and 4 hours before needing charging.

Overall, massively impressed and more than worth the price. Highly recommended for a budget tablet.

    UPDATE:

Since buying this tablet, i have upgraded the OS to Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) which make the tablet even better!! Runs even more quickly and smoothly. I have just noticed that the new ones for sale now come with 8Gb of internal storage (mine only had 4Gb!) and ICS as standard which makes them an even better bargain!
