This is a basic phone, it has no character smiley faces on it, no camera and no facility to add your own ring tones. It does have a torch. Other than that it is a very good quality, very solid and sturdy Nokia mobile. It fits the standard size Nokia charger. If you just want to call and text, the phone is perfect. I bought this for my mum who hates technology and changing phones is always confusing, not with this phone, simple to use with the standard Nokia menu. A great price for a simple phone

Don’t know about that other reviewer perhaps, he’s having a bad day, lol… Just I cannot for the love of god find any fault with this NOKIA 1616 (SIM FREE) PHONE. (Its Superb) even the Hands FREE has a Wonderful stereo effect….
I was working underneath my car the other day while on “Hands FREE”, the phone just sat beside me on the ground. (with perfect reception both ways). 5/5.
Whatever, ‘Sim Card’ you put in (a part from the 3 network) it will work perfectly…
More important, is the “fabulous (1) week average battery Life…” which is a breeze, saves one having to recharge every other day, (this is much more common with smart-phones with bigger CPU’s and much bigger LCD screens, which really drain the battery).
I just was so, impressed with the price I bought another one this morning for an Xmas present to my Girl.
I think Nokia got all the important spec’s correct, at the right price point, like I own an ‘HTC Desire’, so I’m not too fussed if I loose this one, its really just a spare. ‘Great reception BTW’.
It’s got rubber type gripping at the edges, the Phones fits like a GLOVE in ones hand, it will NOT slip nor slide, its just a Fab Phone at a Fab Price, if you don’t need internet, BUY this NOKIA 1616. +Plus its SIM FREE Which means it never needs unlocked, so you can use, o2, Vodafone, Virgin, T-mobile, Orange, Tesco, etc. and others.!

I wanted a low cost but reasonable quality phone that could be used for talking and texting. Wasn’t bothered about a camera. And this little phone did not disappoint. The price was right. The quality excellent. Because it is SIM free it was easy to set up with a PAYG card. The battery standby time is really good – in fact I cannot find fault with it.
I’d recommend anyone to buy this little gem. Here’s hoping Nokia continue to make these things and not be seduced by the Dark Side (fancy gadgets etc!)
