I bought Betraying Nexus because I had read the Pheonix Conspiracy and I was tired of waiting for the sequel – I wish I hadn’t bothered.

Sadly the quality of writing and plot that I enjoyed in the Pheonix Conspiracy was not evident in Betraying Nexus. This felt like a story written by a teenager, the characters were two-dimensional and not very believable. Now I come to think about it the way to ‘betray Nexus’ doesn’t really stand up – I don’t want to give the plot away to anyone who buys this so I won’t say any more.

Come on Richard, stop writing short stories and give us the sequel to the Pheonix Conspiracy – that was a good book that I really enjoyed.

A good SF short story, 5 Dec 2011

This is a short story of around 700 locations taking round an hour or two to read. It is well written, appears to be proffesionally edited, and the story is original and intriguing. Because it is so short the scope for development is limited and this is the only complaint I have against it, that along with the price for such a short piece.

This is one of the most engaging short stories I have read recently – I got through it in one evening as it drew me in entirely and I was itching to reach the conclusion. Although I also feel that a full length novel could have been written about the nefarious activities of Nexus however I thoroughly enjoyed the story as it stands. Richard Sanders novel Phoenix Conspiracy, also available on Amazon, is also packed with intrigue and well worth a read. Hope to see more from this author very soon as he is fast becoming one of my favourites 🙂
