This review is from: She’s Gotta Be Mine (A sexy, funny mystery/romance, Cottonmouth Book 1) (Cottonmouth Series) (Kindle Edition)
Roberta Jones Spivey is having a makeover. With a new hair colour, new wardrobe, swapping business suits for mini skirts and snug fitting tops. Plus a whole new attitude. A little over three weeks ago Roberta’s husband had phoned to say he wanted a divorce. Warren had now got back with Cookie his old sweetheart. Roberta had foolishly helped him look for his high school sweetheart who had dumped him twenty years before. Roberta, who is now calling herself Bobbie Jones decides to sell up quitting her job, selling her BMW, and buying a VW beetle in bright green, and heads to the small town of Cottonmouth, to let Warren see what he’s missing. Roberta/Bobbie rents a small cottage, the real estate person tries to put her off, as the local serial killer Nick lives oposite. Bobbie moves in anyway, she gets a job in the town as a waitress, and settles down to life in a small town. Loved this story it is well written with much humour and there’s also a wonderful romance. The characters are very well drawn, and not just the two leads. You really get a feel for life in a small town, filled with interesting characters. I just loved the way Bobbie refused to stay away from Nick, her pursuit of him made me laugh, suspected serial killer or not the man is too sexy for his own good. Plenty happens to keep you turning the pages, and let’s not forget the fabulous love scenes which are perfect. A highly recommended read.

Oh I absolutely loved this book from the minute I picked it up to the moment I finished it; reading way, way into the night to do so.
Roberta Jones Spivey morphs into Bobbie Jones after being dumped by her “spineless” hubby, Warren, who has tracked down his teenage sweetheart and now wants to build a life with her.
Roberta, a people pleaser, has lived in Warren’s shadow and he’s walked all over her as well as deprived her of love and sex for over five years. Add to that, she’s in a job she hates with a bully for a boss and you can see why she’s lost all her self worth.
This all changes when she visits her hairdresser, for a change in hair colour, and is persuaded to go one step further and have her long hair cut short. Let the morphing begin. She’s already lost 10lbs from moping over Warren – so new wardrobe here we come. All old clothes are discarded and new sexy outfits complete the transition to Bobbie Jones.
Bobbie Jones is just the most delicious, likeable, hilarious character ever; the complete antithesis of Roberta. She won’t take no for an answer which just endeared me to her more. And Nick, the sexy, dark brooding “serial killer” is one of the best male leads I’ve encountered in a long time. The tension leading up to these two hooking up is pure genius and the love scenes are HOT!
This is the first book I’ve read of Jennifer Skully’s, chosen purely because of the excellent reviews and what a treat I had. I loved her writing style, so descriptive she brought all her characters to life, and there was a whole plethora of them. If I wasn’t laughing out loud I was chuckling away most of the way through this excellent book. I read an awful lot of books, but it’s not often I say the characters will live with me for a long time. I just loved them and don’t feel like going onto another book just yet; I’ve enjoyed this reading experience so much. Obviously, I’ve no hesitation in recommending this book 100%!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. As soon as I put it down, I wanted to pick it straight back up again. The characters were believable and really came to life. I would highly recommend this book.
