I bought this product primarily for my new laptop computer. Having previously used Windows XP and its fore-runners on my desktop machine, I quickly became very irritated by the lack of precision, speed and accuracy of the touchpad device on the laptop. I also dislike Windows 7’s assumption that, when I cross over a utility/program with the touch device cursor, I wish to open it. I alone require to be the arbiter of that decision. Since I have used this mouse, the previous problem is now resolved.
The product itself is well designed and very good value. The scroll wheel is much more precise in response than the one on the wired mouse attached to my desktop machine. The nano USB receiver is sufficiently small to be completely unobtrusive, and I find the page back / page forward buttons more convenient than having to go to the arrows at the top left of the browser. As I am ambidextrous, I have no problems at all with the layout of the mouse controls.
As for the battery life, which I have noticed that other reviews make comment upon, I would state that the original supplied batteries did not last very long. However, I then replaced these with Lloytron rechargeable batteries, which have already lasted more than twice as long as the originals, and are still going strong. I make a habit of switching off the mouse each time I finish using it.
My overall opinion, considering all the factors I have mentioned, is that this is a very good product.

I bought this product because all the usb sockets are on the left hand side of my laptop and as I am left handed this meant the protruding usb receiver in my previous mouse was always in my way. The nano mouse is a good product. The wireless receiver is tiny and can be left in the usb socket when not in use, and the mouse itself is a good size and shape and very lightweight. I’m not so sure about the 3 month battery life claim. The ones that were supplied ran out after about 5 hours use over the course of a few days. Having said which I wasn’t switching the mouse off with the on/off button on the under side, assuming that as the light went out when the laptop was switched off this automatically shut the mouse down – there are no instructions telling you what to do, so I would definitely recommend using the OFF switch. My only other gripe has to be the webpage back and forward buttons – as I said at the beginning of the review, I’m left-handed. These buttons are located on the left hand side of the mouse and positioned for right-handed people to use – IE, you would activate them with your thumb. Lefties should be aware that the buttons are very sensitive and the way we hold a mouse means it’s all too easy to find yourself flicking back through webpages when you don’t mean to. It’s taking a bit of practice, but I am starting to get used to it. I just wish there was an option for having those buttons deactivated when not required. All in all though I would say this is a good buy. It seems as sturdy and robust as more expensive mice and the right-handed members of my family have had fewer problems than me getting used to the webpage buttons. Worth buying.
