i used to have the panasonic ew1211 – which was fantastic. however this new model is even better! the charge on this is excellent, seems to last forever! it is very straight forward to use and comes with extra brush’s. the water reservoir is much larger than the ew1211 – which was the only flaw of the previous model.

in summary, i would recommend this to anyone. works really well and you will not be disappointed. it does what it says!

This is a well-designed product. Although intended for travel use, it works well anyway.

Power – using it once or twice each day the battery lasts for weeks. It has 2 speed settings, the higher one is pretty powerful until the battery runs down! The battery-charging indicator light is handy but doesn’t show when it’s fully charged; the instruction book says 8 hours normally or 16 hours if it’s completely discharged. It also has a clear message that you can’t ruin the battery by charging it from partially or completely discharged, which was the problem I had with my previous dental jet, so I’m delighted to have something this robust I don’t have to worry about. It’s also relatively quiet compared to my last one.

Design – the switches are solid and well-positioned. The one nozzle unfortunately has a sharp edges so it can be uncomfortable against gums and not so easy to aim into spaces. I never had need for any other nozzles though. Using the extendable outer casing as a water reservoir is inspired design. The only drawback here is the fill hole position: easy to fill, not easy to completely empty because it’s slightly above the bottom edge. This means with regular use there is always a bit of water in there and mildew appears after a few weeks – but by this point you should be cleaning it anyway!

Suggested improvements – rounded tip on nozzle, fully-charged indicator light, improve fill cap position for easier emptying.

Overall – a dental jet is definitely more effective than flossing, although you may still need e.g. TePe brushes for tricky bits. This is a quality product.

Having previously purchased a Waterpik which needed charging before every use before giving up the ghost in less than a year, this irrigator has astounded me. I’ve used it once a day since June and have not had to recharge it yet! Brilliant! The only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is that it does seem very slightly less powerful than the Waterpik, but given that the high level of power only lasted a month or so, this is a far better buy.
